I have no internet access on that PC and the USB ports obviously don't work.
I can get drivers on this PC online. Some I can't find. I did the uninstall driver, disable, all the usual for this problem. I am stumped. Any recovery attempts produce nil results. Going off of numbering the 14.1.1 drivers are obviously latest although I have seen that whatever drivers are made for Lenovo are always a little different (features and such). In this case is it better to go off of the laptop manufacturer's drivers (even though they are a lower number and seemingly older) or the wireless manufacturer's page (Intel). If Windows has assigned it's own drivers (which in some cases are newer), should I just ignore the drivers on the Lenovo site unless something is not working? Example: Intel has a network card driver on the site, but it's older than the driver Win 7 provided. I was hoping to use the XP machine that it was connected to as a print server of sorts, and just make it like a network print server and not need to install the drivers but that is not working as well.
I have seen the local port creations, but that still requires a 64-bit driver, and at this time there is no such thing. Aug 9, 2009 I have a Minolta QMS laser printer (GDI) and I really like and I was able to use it with Windows Vista 32bit and also Windows 7 32bit. I changed to Windows 7 64 bit because I wanted to do Virtualization and added more memory to my PC so I can do this, everything I installed worked just fine except for my printer. The last drivers Minolta got out for this printer is for Windows XP but I was able to use until now with no problems at all, even with windows 7 32bit works great. Here is where my problem comes, I believe its possible to make the correct changes to the inf file for the driver to work with 64bit but I dont know about programing drivers, I tried and no luck with my lack of knowledge, so I am asking for help here for someone that knows this stuff, this driver package is very small (2.44mb) and I think it should be easy to fix. I contacted Minolta but because this is a faced-out printer they dont want to do anything about it.
